Gurl Grunge takes over

Nina rocking out with the Wicked Gardener’s at Luckypalooza, March 11th

The latest addition to The Wicked Garden Concert Event™ is a smokin hot set of tunes from some of the biggest female artists of the era. I’m talkin’ Alanis, Fiona, Gwen, Courtney—but also some pretty big surprises that were inescapable radio anthems and never left your Compact Disc players. To kick this off, the Wicked Gardeners welcome the incredibly talented Nina DiNio to the stage. You don’t want to miss this!

The horizons expand

Wicked Garden continues to evolve and grow in 2022, and we couldn’t be more excited about the direction. We’d like to welcome Eli Pete as the newest member of Wicked Garden. Eli has been a bass guitar force and wildly entertaining presence on a multitude of stages around these parts for a long time. You may recognize him from his many cameo appearances on Sons of Anarchy as well. Come meet Eli and check out a metric ton of new tunes Wicked Garden is adding!

Hot Summer Nights

July is upon us and it’s a really exciting month for the Wicked Gardeners. We have a bunch of huge shows, kicking off with a return trip to Legendary Waters Casino near Bayfield, Wisconsin. We’ve got Ziggy’s in Stillwater, Mainstreet in Hopkins during the Raspberry Festival, headlining at Rivertown Days in Hastings, the Anoka County Fair, and a weekend stand at Commander Bar in Breezy Point.

But more than that, we welcome Benjamin Horn to lead guitar duties. He has shared the stage with WG previously, and has a much longer history with guitarist Jamie Norman and former drum slayer, John Gensmer from their days in original rock outfit, The Acadian.

Benjamin is a producer and composer, artist, mixologist, and connoisseur tiki cocktails. Come on out and say hello to this guy!

See you soon — Wicked Gardeners

Last Hurrah…

It’s with great respect, gratitude, and sadness that we say farewell-for-now to cornerstone member of Wicked Garden and absolute guitar shredding machine, Wally Borgan. WG has come a long way in a decade, and Wally’s contributions to that journey are immeasurable. He has set an incredibly high bar in his playing and his dedication. He’s made us all better musicians with those standards. His formidable abilities on guitar are matched only by his sharp wit—known to anyone who’s spent time with him. We will miss the improvisational food lyrics and relentless bass player jokes; we have had some huge laughs.
We hope that he’ll make cameos, or fill-in appearances in the future. But regardless, we wish Wally every success in whatever adventure lies ahead of him.
Join us for his last couple shows: Maxx Bar on 6/17, and his home turf, Ziggy’s in Hudson on 6/24.

Tributes and new tunes

The Wicked Gardeners were stunned and heartbroken to learn about the tragic passing of Taylor Hawkins on March 25th. We would like to pay a little extra tribute to Taylor’s incredible presence and energy as a member of the Foo Fighters by adding a couple of new Foo’s tunes to our set.

Also, we’ve added a few other dance floor-crushing new tunes to the set:

  • Space Lord – Monster Magnet
  • Are You Gonna Go My Way – Lenny Kravitz
  • Zero – Smashing Pumpkins
  • Semi-Charmed Life – Third Eye Blind

The plan is to continue spicing things up and adding more new tunes on a regular basis. See you soon! 🤘

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hey everyone, here’s hoping you’re off and running in 2022. Wicked Garden is looking forward to a busy year, playing some new places, meeting new peeps, and introducing a bunch of new tunes! See you all soon. \m/

Quick Update…

Hey peeps! Been a while since we’ve updated, well… anything around here. It’s been quite the year. But, it’s been awesome to get back to playing live music again, and the summer was busy for Wicked Garden. We have welcomed Salvador Rosas as the new drummer, as our brother John Gensmer crushes it for Arch Allies.

The Wicked Gardeners are rejuvenated with Sal in the fold and we look forward to hitting some of the usual haunts this fall. Check out the calendar for details.

We look forward to seeing you all soon!
